Houston, we have a problem

A little issue here, a little issue there.

Found 1 roach in the kitchen sink, figured it came in with the moving and such. Then, found one in the bedroom closet! The CLOSET?!!? How the heck did he get in there. I didn't even have food in the kitchen, let alone the bedroom! Talked with mom, and she was right, they were kinda dying, so they must have already sprayed. (Actually, I went to the office today and they confirmed that the apartments were just sprayed last Wed.) Bought 8 of those heavy duty roach motel/killers. I feel like every corner of the apartment should have one, but I am trying to control myself.

Went to eat at Sonic last night. It is a block away and they are redoing the drive thru, so they brought the food out on trays just like if you were to pull into a stall. There were two cars behind me, and they were BOTH served before me. I waited another 5 minutes and then just drove off. I mean really, I ordered tots and a fricking corndog. Just put them into the fryer, it's not rocket science.

Got a desk and put it together.

It came in a box and is pretty big, so there were lots of pieces, including the boards that are laminated on one side and just plain compressed board on the other. (The non-laminated side is supposed to face the wall. Well, needless to say, I did not put it together correctly. So, now I have a crappy side to hide as I decorate.

(Accidently deleted the photo....)
(Notice that the top is all fake-wood-looking and the bottom looks like crap? That particular board was supposed to be on the inside of the opposing shelf. Dangit!)

This was all finished off by my laptop not reading the install disk for the printer. (I am typing this as it finally finishes printing my analysis for today.) I had to reboot the whole system to get it to read it.

Hope the rest of the day goes better.

P.S. to the fam. Mel's hubby Jay (No, I am not referring to him like this cuz I think I should, but merely to avoid posting last names.) has started his own blog. He is "Daddy Warbucks" and is quite funny.........Sorry Mel, but I have to spread the love and the humor.

Between you and Jay I could sit here all day and laugh til my sides split. I love it!

Nice desk!! LOL!!

As for the roach thing, I feel your pain. However, I must tell you that one of the gals that works in our maintenance dept told me when we were dealing with ours that she used to live in Florida and that the roaches were why she moved back to Nebraska. She said they had to put EVERYTHING in Rubbermaid containers; food, toilet paper, everything. Just a little fyi. Maybe I shoulda thought of that before you moved so you would be a little more prepared. Sorry!

Argh! Don't spread the word! Okay, only kidding. We'll see how long his blog lasts, c'mon...his attention span is teensy.

Well done on the desk - I am so very proud of you. Haven't built a stinkin' thing since I got married.

Frustrating, for sure! Been there done that!
Roaches are a problem in FL. I would freak, too. Just stay on top of them and make your landlord spray often.
