First night

Stopped just outside of St. Louis last night. Things are going well, but driving at night sure is boring. I think mom and dad are a little nervous with me heading out on my own. Mom wants me to check in every hour and they ended up calling ahead to book me a hotel last night. I stayed at the Red Roof Inn and the ladies there were wonderful. They even moved one of their cars so I could park in front of the office and they said they'd watch my stuff! Very nice!

This morning I slept a long time. Decided not to set the alarm, so woke up at 10 am. When I was checking out, a gentleman asked me about my NE plates on my car. When I said I was from there and went to school there, he commented that he had a buddy that used to go there....played football, too. When I asked who, he said "Lawrence Phillips". Huh. Small world. I didn't really know what to say about that, but I will admit, I am still impressed by his athletic skills even though I...let's say "question" his personal choices. He wished me luck and now I am just updating here and checking my email before I head out. (By the way mom, the "panera like" place is actually a branch of Panera called the St. Louis Bread Company.)

I'm off and if you all get bored today, you should give me a ring. I'm hoping to make it to the Florida/Georgia border. I might have to stop and get another book on tape. It really passes the time!!

Glad to hear that it's all going well. I am bored outta my mind today, doing laundry and contemplating my life and how long it will be before I am actually happy that there is nothing that HAS to be done on days like today. Jeremy is leaving this afternoon, so I will call you at some point for some adult convo!!! LOVE YOU!!
