What a dinner

First a question. I feel like when you ladies post questions that you might not check back to find out the answer. So, I feel like I should address them at the beginning of my blogs. Do you check back? (I never do...) Anyway, Mel, I posted an answer to your question about FSM.

So, yesterday at noon I got an email from my friend Bill at work. He was going to be in Orlando and wondered if I would like to do dinner. YES! So I got directions and headed out after my conference call ended at 6:30. Just in time to miss a call from Bill. Yeah, instead of a small dinner, we met with clients. And not just any client, but the daughter of the CEO. I waited at the bar since they ended up taking longer at the airport and received a free glass of champagne (Jean Louis something or other...)

Anyway, We headed for dinner at the hotel. It was amazing!! For appetizers we had Blue cheese, sliced fennel, calamata olives, crab cakes, calamari (which I actually liked for the first time), and filet mignon eggrolls (super awesome). For my entree I had orangewood smoked pork chops. It was so big everyone at the table was just making fun of me. It had two bones poking out of the side so they kept joking that I should just pick it up by the bone and gnaw on it.

This was followed by Chef Jean-Louis's famous bananas foster! He is often requested to do this for conventions that have 1000 attendants. He was funny, amazing and was the wonderful gentelman who gave me the champagne earlier. I have never had something so amazing. They served it with ice cream and the sugar mixture that they rolled the bananas in had created a delicious crust. With his urging, I also tried some port with it. (Not a big fan of wine, so not a big fan of port.)

It was incredible. Unfortunately, due to Bill's late call that I never received, I did not know that we were eating with clients. Lucky me, I dressed up a little with dark jeans, a nice top and killer heels. (Hey, I never get to wear my awesome shoes down here. Be prepared for a very tall Stacey attending your b-day party Mel and Nikki.)

Anyway, here are a few pics and details about the great hotel in Celebration

I heart Tall Stacey. I will take a Tylenol so my neck won't get sore.

"What a dinner" I ate ribs and beans at the Giltner bar tonight! They had real "perdy" pink flamingo string lights across the wall behind the bar! For dessert I ate 15 TWIX bars (the mini ones)and they tasted re-e-al good, too!
