I headed down there on Sunday and had lunch with Jeff from work. (For those of you that know the story, this is the guy that I was rumored to have dated and he was seeing my friend at work up until this last July.) We headed out to a little shoppy area and ate some Italian and then cruized around to window shop. He made a comment about how he was looking for a good time like we were having in his current relationship, but it just wasn't there. He is thinking of ending it with his new gf...(uncomfortable, much?) Then back to the Ritz for some beach time. I headed up to his room with him to change into my suit and commented on how nice his room was. He offered to let me stay with him. (A little creepy since there was only a king bed, but I let it go.)
Down to the beach, back to my hotel to shower, back to the Ritz for dinner and then dessert on the terrace. Clients started showing up, so I got to schmooze. I was supposed to have dinner with Edan, but due to the storms back in your neck of the woods, he was delayed until midnightish. (At dinner, I also got a big guilt trip laid on me by the lady that hosts the deal. Evidently, when she said sure I could come, she meant to add on kiss my feet until the hole in the ozone is fixed.) Jeff and I chilled a little more, just the two of us and then I headed out for the roach motel. But first Jeff made a comment about how I could stay with him for real. (Further adding to the uncomfortableness of the situation...)
The next morning I came bright and early to help out. I lined up name tags and arranged table displays and folder place cards until the OCD really started to shine. Then, client time. About 40 people were there and at lunch we sat at tables of 7 where we did a get to know you exercise. It was a lot of fun and I sat with some extremely nice gentlemen.
And here is the highlight. The Brazilian. Oh man. I know he was a client, but he was just so darn cute! Nice, sweet, funny, successful. The kind of guy you want to bring home to meet your parents. (Unless your mom is a cougar, that is.) He looks like the guy from Love Actually, you know, Karl that ends up in his silk black boxers? Check this out:

Yup. I'm in love. I called about 6 friends to tell them on the way home and was flying high until I started joking about it with a coworker this morning. He shot down my dreams flat (he just has that way about him).
Anyway, I got his business card as well as a few of his coworkers (they are based out of Miami.) Hopefully, we can at least grow a good business like friendship... and make beautiful babies. Aye Papi! I felt pretty good since the conference consisted of lunch, a speaker, a small break, another speaker and then a short cocktail hour. When I left while they were sitting down for dinner, it took about 45 minutes to say goodbye to everyone. I love these type of events. I should really be in PR.
Here are a few other updates: Booked my trip home. I will fly in on March 6th, stay until March 14th and then head to Denver for Brett's b-day until the 18th.
Got the phone thing resolved with no further discounts for the headache.
Happy Belated B-Day to Captain. YEARGH!!!!
X called and when I talked about meeting a guy from Brazil he started to freak. Then he asked if moving to Orlando would put me closer to Miami and I said "not much, but a little." He then said he was sorry he asked and that he wanted to change subjects. Idiot.
There is a leak in the apt above me and my ceiling is leaking a little. However, it is over the tub and only leaks when they are running something. They were supposed to come and repair my ceiling today, but no one showed up. Now, they are shutting off the water main to the complex tomorrow. Oh well. guess if you need me I'll be Panera/Starbucks hopping.
PS I AM BOYCOTTING THIS BLOG UNTIL KATIE POSTS THE PICKS FROM MY HOLIDAY PARTY!!!

Until the OCD started to shine. That made me laugh!
I love events like that too. While other people often complain, whine, get grumpy about such things...I get this rush of "I love life!" Glad you had fun.
Are you moving to Orlando? Where is it that you live now? I really need to look at a map of FL.
AWW come on!
I never get on the computer at home and I don't have a color scanner at work! Punk! Fine! I'll try to go home for lunch and do it. Brat.
Girl Scout cookies will be here when you get home!!! YAY!!!
I am so glad you had fun at the conference. Things like that are awesome!
Don't send me fictional pictures. He was much better looking in my mind!!
