On a mission:

I am exploring the use of High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) and would like reputable data. If you have any magazine articles or books that talk about this and reference research articles, I would like to read them.

I am tired of being informed by all natural/organic freaks (SIDE NOTE: not that all people that are all natural/organic are freaks, but I only get preached to by the nutjobs) and now the corn growers association is advertising on TV. I wanna know what science says, not advertisers after their own agendas.....

I am glad I am not the only one that feels this way. I have been meaning to get online and see what I can find, too. I saw one (or more) of the corn grower commercials and thought to myself, "It's just like the egg thing. One day it's the incredible edible egg the next it's gonna kill ya." I don't know what to believe anymore. I say if you are hungry, eat. LOL

Dr. Oz says don't eat anything that has HFCS in the first five ingredients. He uses scientific data to back it up, but I don't have the book right by me to check it out.
From a parent's view, all I know is that it's evil! Evil!!!
But so is meat, milk, cheese, pretty much all food, and all forms of water.
I think I've got that right anyway...

N: I was just thinking it is just like eggs!

I will never say that HFCS is good for you, but it is no worse than sugar. Just like the commercials say: it's fine in moderation. (Just like eggs, fat, and red meat, etc.)

What I understand is it is TONS more sweet than sugar. So it kinda gets you addicted faster, if you're going to be a carbohydrate addict. I think that if you know about it you can use it wisely. (I'll talk to Farmer Dave and see his view.) I think that "they" are trying to find the solution to obesity. I could make a million for this- I know why we are obese, I've experienced it- eat too much, exercise too little, add a heaping load of stress and a pinch of no stress release and you have an obesity epidemic.
