- My children became independent to the point I didn't have to think "I HAVE to leave so I can go pick up the kids (OR) I HAVE to get home to be with the kids." I've love being a mom!!!
- All four children graduated from college. I was so excited for them. (I don't use the word proud. I found this definition in the Am Heritage Dictionary- "Feeling pleasurable satisfaction over an act, possession, quality, or relationship by which one measures one's stature or self-worth: proud of one's child; proud to serve one's country." I didn't like that so much.) Life is such a grand adventure and they had a ticket to set sail. I've loved watching them evolve!!!
- I watched, at times in horror, as my children developed romantic relationships. K met J and when they decided to get married we had NO doubts. We loved J so much we worried that our other in-law children couldn't measure up. But then B found A and once again we loved our A just as we do J. With 2 children still looking for Mr/Ms Right I also realize it's not about us loving the partner it's about us loving the partner our children choose to love. I love my children's spouses!!! and spouses-to-be!!!
- We had our first grandchild. We love her so much. We want to be with her all the time. We don't want any errors made in her upbringing. We have to calm ourselves down because we become overzealous towards her upbringing. The circle of life continues with ALB........she's pure joy! Her parents are so good. Wow! And now we are expecting our second grandchild and I'm already sad because they live 6 hours away and I won't be able to see her almost every week of her life like I did A. I'll be brave. But already her mom and dad to-be are such good parents. Double WOW. I love my family!!!
- We have such wonderful families. D's has been wonderful. I have a mother-in-law that is so complementary to me and she tells me secret things she won't tell her 3 daughters. I am her favorite daughter-in-law (Her ONLY daughter-in-law!) and I love her. I want to be the same for my in-law children- a little annoying but they'll know I'm in their corner. My S family is so accepting. The kids come with studs or piercings and funky hair and everyone just loves them the way they are. The men are super-dads and the women are so talented and darling. My dad would be so smiley and my mom is so stoic but she loves all the kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She proudly announces the arrival of each one as if it were her who'd given birth. I love the examples of our families!!!
- We still have wonderful friends- from college and high school. They are so precious to us and always there. BFF!
- I started a kinda new career. Instead of teaching elementary school I went back to college and got my endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education. I teach children birth to age 5 with special needs. I was working 1/2 time, had four children in middle school and completed my classes in about 2 1/2 years- 30 hours! About 15 years ago I was asked to teach for our local ESU and then 10 years ago my high school superintendent called and asked me to come to his school and teach. He let me create a DREAM PROGRAM that I wanted to start at the ESU but couldn't get the support. Now we have a Cadillac program. I love my job!
- I continue to work at our small country church. My faith has been the center (and centering) of my whole life. I love my God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. I usually work with the children but have spent a lot of time with the women, too. I need to so on a spiritual journey, soon! I sense something new in the near future! I'm excited to find out what that will be. Jesus loves me this I know...........
- My D! I love him so much!!!!!!! I still get goose bumps when he walks in the door. We went out to a movie on Fri and he still holds my hand in the theater! Then as we walked down the street he took my hand and we walked hand-in-hand. I LOVE that man!!
Well, I think that sums up, oops I only have 9.................
- My home. As much as I stress out about it, it is my favorite place. I also love to travel but I think I love traveling so much because I know I have a home to come to. I love traveling so I can come HOME!
I still love life! My college friends got me a poster that said, "Some men see things as they are and say why. I dream things that never were and say why not." I am still a hopeless dreamer who believes everyone should be loved even if they are unlovable." The Bible says, "It's easy to love the loveable. I want you to love the unlovable." I will continue to love- all!

Thanks for tagging her MBG.
Sorry, I got carried away with this project. Each thought brought up so many images I had to include pics. I needed that mental exercise.
I LOVED THIS!!!! First of all, the pictures brought back so many memories. Second, I agree with EVERYTHING said, especially about UD, the kids, and our family. And last, but not least, it listed some of the many reasons I love you so much. Thank you for doing this. I hope to one day look back and say all of the same things!! **tear** You are such a wonderful woman, AJ. Thank you for being part of our lives!!! **HUGS!!**
